How Leaders Can Help Deliver Economic Prosperity Through Digital Education

As students across the northern hemisphere start their academic year, it is a good time to reflect on the state and value of education. In recent times, interruption to education due to the pandemic, military conflicts and natural disasters have curtailed education for millions. Schools were forced to shut down around the world, with teachers, students and parents forced to take a crash course in digital education.

I have experienced first-hand the disruption that Syrian children have had to live through with war in their country, forcing many families to seek refuge in neighboring nations. My home country Turkey has welcomed millions of Syrian refugees, and as the CEO of a cellular operator, I was fortunate enough to play a part in enabling online learning opportunities for Syrians.
